Dear Parent/Guardian,
Cloverdale Community School’s staff and stakeholders are being given an opportunity to experience a simulated disaster drill staged in our Middle/High Schools on Saturday, April 23rd. Please be aware that there will be unusual traffic, including rescue vehicles, helicopters, police cars, and other outside personnel on the Cloverdale Community School’s campus beginning at 6:30 a.m. The campus will be closed to anyone who is not directly invited to observe or participate.
The theme of the drill will be active shooter and student/staff safety with six venues to be targeted: Police, Medical, Command, Public Information Dissemination, Reunification, and ALICE Training. Representatives from Putnam County EMS, Indiana State Police, Putnam County Sheriff’s Department, Cloverdale Police Department, Greencastle Police Department, Cloverdale Township Fire Department, Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission, Putnam County Safe Schools Commission, and Putnam County EMA have all combined to plan and implement this Active Shooter Full Scale Exercise.
Cloverdale Community Schools welcomes the opportunity to partner with these outstanding organizations for this worthy cause. The safety of our students and staff is always our number one concern, and events like this pay great dividends to all of us. We want to commend everyone who has worked so diligently to make an event of this magnitude happen. We appreciate the time and effort that each organization in general, and each person in particular have given on our student ‘s and staff’s behalf. We look forward to a meaningful experience on Saturday.
